Amsterdam, June 17th – Today THE ART OF BANKSY opens its doors in Amsterdam. Iconic work by street art enigma Banksy will be showing in the Beurs van Berlage from 18th June to 30th September 2016. Using graffiti as a means to communicate, his art has been taking over the streets of cities like New York, London and Berlin for years. And now a sizeable collection of the artist’s work, brought together by Steve Lazarides, is on display in Amsterdam.

We are honored to announce that Kultivate has been asked by The Art of Banksy to design an exclusive T-shirt in honor of this first ever Banksy exhibition in Europe. And we couldn’t be more proud. Banksy inspired our brand since day one. The pieces make us stop and think – something that people often avoid on their day to day lives. Our motto Conformity Kills lives up to this way of life. Today we release an exclusive preview of this limited edition KULTIVATE x THE ART OF BANKSY T-shirt.

The first pieces are popping up in the city, only 100 are exclusively available online on kultivate.com. Follow the countdown on Instagram @kultivateofficial to be the first to shop the KULTIVATE x THE ART OF BANKSY tee. The first 50 customers will have a chance to receive free entrance tickets to The Art of Banksy Exhibition.

The artwork
The design of the KULTIVATE x THE ART OF BANKSY T-shirt is created by Kultivate on our best-selling fit. The chosen work is Banksy’s Love Rat. One of our favorite and most iconic of Banksy’s works. It was first discovered as graffiti work on a street in Liverpool. It features a rat holding a paintbrush in his paws, on the wall he drawn a heart. In this image, people see a city rat that stands for love, and perhaps they see themselves.

About Banksy
Banksy. One of contemporary Britain’s most successful and certainly most mysterious artists. Banksy’s street art pops up all over the world with humorous, politically-slanted and sometimes challenging works, which he places in public spaces to rattle the establishment’s cage—usually by spraying images and messages on walls using stencils. For instance, Banksy made a wall painting of Steve Jobs in the refugee camp in Calais. The son of a Syrian migrant himself, Steve Jobs is shown with a sack on his back and an old Apple Macintosh computer in his right hand. Read more about Banksy here on theartofbanksy.com.
